Open USD Competes with Tether and Circle

Open Standard has entered the market with its new stablecoin, Open USD (OUSD), to compete with Tether's USDT and Circle's USDC. OUSD is available on the Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Tempo networks. The company aims to provide businesses using OUSD with a share of reserve income and company equity. Stablecoin issuers earn interest income from the supporting reserves. While Tether retains a large portion of this income, Circle shares a part of the USDC reserve income with distribution partners. Open Standard plans to place revenue sharing at the center of its business model. The income generated from OUSD reserves will be distributed to partners after deducting a small management fee. Businesses can also mint OUSD for free and convert it back to dollars. The distribution of company equity is also part of the model. CEO Zach Abrams stated that the majority of Open Standard's shares will be given to partners contributing to the growth of OUSD. Founding partners will not gain privileges in revenue sharing.
