Changxin LPDDR6 Mass Production, Peak Rate 12800Mbps, Maximum Capacity 16GB
Changxin Technology has announced the mass production of its self-developed low-power memory LPDDR6, which will first be used in the Xiaomi 18 Fold foldable flagship smartphone. This marks the first commercial use of LPDDR6 products globally, signifying a breakthrough for Chinese memory companies in high-end memory standards, breaking the monopoly of overseas manufacturers. According to Changxin's semi-annual report, the performance of LPDDR6 chips has been comprehensively improved compared to LPDDR5X, with a peak rate of 12800Mbps and a maximum capacity of 16GB. LPDDR6 is the latest generation of LPDDR products internationally, with the standard first published by the international standards organization JEDEC in July 2025. In March of this year, Changxin began product testing, ultimately achieving a global debut. LPDDR6 is seen as a key pillar for unleashing AI computing power, applied in smartphones, PCs, smart cockpits, and AI data centers, helping domestic smartphone manufacturers seize AI opportunities.
