Altcoins Grow 45% Since June 2026, But Warning Signs Emerge
The market capitalization of altcoins has grown by 45% since June 2026, with over $371 billion in inflows. Currently, 87% of altcoins on Binance are trading above the 200-day moving average, in contrast to 20% in August. However, analyst Darkfost warned that on-chain data suggests altcoins may be entering a critical phase. This behavior is not unprecedented, as similar patterns in 2021 and early 2024 preceded periods of price stabilization or correction. Darkfost highlighted that the current euphoria in the altcoin market may not be sustainable. Additionally, the firm Glassnode indicated that the altcoin cycle has shifted from the Bitcoin season to the altcoin season, although the Altcoin Season Index stands at 59 points, far from the 75 needed to declare a cycle dominated by altcoins.
