Bitget Phased Withdrawal Restart: Schedule (UTC+8) and Checks for Taiwan Users
Bitget suspended withdrawals on 24 September 2026 after detecting unauthorised transfers from some of its hot wallets, and on 26 September it published a phased restart. In Taiwan time (UTC+8) every phase lands at 16:00 local: BTC on 28 September, ETH on 29 September, USDT on 30 September, and other tokens, fiat and P2P on 2 October; the same order applies to all users without preference.
Withdrawal restart schedule (UTC+8)
The table below follows Bitget Support Center, “Bitget to Resume Withdrawals in Phases” (26 September 2026, 03:55 UTC). The original table is in UTC; Taiwan is UTC+8 and does not observe daylight saving, so every phase is 16:00 on the same calendar day in Taiwan.
| Phase (UTC) | Taiwan time (UTC+8) | Assets and networks restored |
|---|---|---|
| 28 September 08:00 | 28 September 16:00 | BTC (Bitcoin network) |
| 29 September 08:00 | 29 September 16:00 | ETH (Ethereum, BSC, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism) |
| 30 September 08:00 | 30 September 16:00 | USDT (Ethereum, BSC, Solana, Tron) |
| 2 October 08:00 | 2 October 16:00 | Other tokens, fiat, P2P |
The same notice says users do not need to take any action ahead of the rollout and that withdrawal availability will be reflected directly on the Bitget platform; deposits and trading have continued through the pause. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen will also host a live AMA at 07:30 UTC on 28 September, which is 15:30 Taiwan time the same day.
Four things Taiwan users should check
- Trust official notices only. News about restored withdrawals appears only in the Bitget Support Center and inside the platform; a message, email or external link claiming that withdrawals have resumed is not an official notice. Type the official address yourself and check the Support Center, and never hand over verification codes, a recovery phrase or a private key.
- Match the asset to the network. Before withdrawing, confirm the pair: this time USDT runs on Ethereum, BSC, Solana and Tron; ETH on Ethereum, BSC, Arbitrum, Base and Optimism; BTC on the Bitcoin network. The network shown on screen has to match the asset you hold.
- Fiat and P2P come last. Until 2 October 16:00 Taiwan time, fiat and P2P are still in the final batch; if you need that channel, confirm the phase has actually started before you plan a payment.
- Keep the records. Save one copy each of the transaction hash, asset, network, request time and support replies. If a withdrawal is delayed or the amount differs, those records are what you use to explain the case to the platform, and never pay anyone an “acceleration fee” or a “deposit” to speed it up.
The incident, the tracing and the bounty
Bitget Support Center, “[SECURITY NOTICE] Bitget exchange hot wallets Incident — September 24, 2026” (24 September 2026, 21:39 UTC), says the unauthorised transfers were detected at 18:31 UTC on 24 September, involved some hot wallets, and left cold wallets unaffected; the platform suspended withdrawals as a precaution while deposits and trading kept running, with the Protection Fund standing at over US$464 million at the time. The notice of 26 September adds that the pause is a security measure and not related to the availability of user assets, that account balances remain unaffected and that the Protection Fund covers the financial impact; the vulnerability has been identified and remediated, with Mandiant and SlowMist continuing to support the investigation.
On tracing, “Bitget Security Latest Incident Update: Fund Tracing and Recovery Bounty Program” (25 September 2026, 14:05 UTC) revises the confirmed amount sent to attacker-controlled addresses to about US$387.5 million, up from the initial estimate of about US$351.6 million, adding assets on Zcash and TRON; the confirmed affected assets are XRP, ETH, USDT, ZEC, USDC, USDT0, XAUt, BNB, AVAX and TRX. Some funds have been frozen through industry coordination, and the Recovery Bounty Program pays 5% of successfully frozen funds and 5% of successfully recovered funds, with actions taken under court orders or law-enforcement requests excluded. The platform also published a live tracing dashboard and a report portal for exchanges and security teams.

What the notices do not yet cover
As of the three notices of 26 September, none lists a per-transfer or daily withdrawal cap for any asset after the restart; the live state of each asset is what the platform shows and what later notices say.
