Jamie Dimon forecasts AI spending by hyperscalers to reach $1 trillion by 2027
Jamie Dimon announced an increase in investment spending by cloud giants, rising from $300 billion last year to nearly $700 billion this year, with a forecast of $1 trillion in 2027. This growth could add about one percentage point to GDP per year. However, inflation could rise due to hiring and capital investments. UBS projects AI infrastructure spending of $4.1 trillion between 2026 and 2028, with $1.447 trillion for 2027. Amazon, Alphabet, and Microsoft are expected to allocate 102% of their cloud revenues to these investments this year. Profitability will depend on the ability to convert these expenditures into recurring revenues. This capital dynamic largely relies on debt, influencing bond markets and Bitcoin.
