The State Purchased 5,000 Pickup Trucks for the Armed Forces, Saving Over 2 Billion UAH
The Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense has completed a tender for the purchase of 5,000 pickup trucks for the Defense Forces through Prozorro. The first vehicles have already been delivered to the military, and the entire batch is expected to be supplied by the end of the year. The tender started in May and was divided into several lots, with six suppliers ensuring the deliveries. As a result of the bidding, it was possible to save over 2 billion UAH of budget funds, which are planned to be used for other needs of the defense forces. Deputy Minister Mykola Banik noted that the demand for pickups is high and constant, making this the largest centralized procurement of its kind. The purchased vehicles are new, come with a manufacturer's warranty, all-wheel drive, and diesel engines. The delivery of the first vehicles has already begun, and the entire batch is to be delivered to the troops by the end of the year. The Ministry of Defense continues to transition procurement to competitive procedures, allowing for the involvement of multiple suppliers and saving state funds.
