Google Invests $15.2 Billion in Finnish Digital Infrastructure
Google plans to invest at least $15.2 billion in Finland's digital infrastructure over the next two years, marking one of the largest tech investments in the country's history. Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated that this investment is driven by Finland's abundant clean energy, secure operating environment, and expanding tech industry, making it a popular destination for building artificial intelligence infrastructure. Stubb pointed out that companies will decide the locations for their data centers, and Google's investment reflects the clean energy and security systems that Finland can provide, with 95% of its electricity coming from clean energy. Additionally, Finland's relatively cold climate is beneficial for the operation of data centers.
