Exclusive-listed cryptocurrencies on South Korean exchanges drop 20.9%
The number of cryptocurrencies on South Korean exchanges has declined for the first time in two years. Exclusive listings, traded on only one exchange, fell by 20.9% in six months, according to a survey by South Korea’s Financial Intelligence Unit. A total of 673 virtual assets were circulating in the first half of this year, down 39, or 5.5%, from 712 in the second half of last year. Exclusive-listed assets decreased by 62, from 296 to 234. In contrast, the number of virtual assets listed on two or more exchanges increased by 23, or 5.5%, to 439 from 416. An industry official noted that exclusive listings impose liquidity burdens on exchanges and highlighted a preference for coins with proven market demand.
